About the Programme
The Intensive Ballet Masterclass 2026 brings together ten of the world's finest ballet artists for seven consecutive days of elite training in Vienna. With dedicated programme tracks for every age and level — from our youngest dancers aged 6 through to professional stage performers — this is the most comprehensive training week available in central Europe.
Beyond the group masterclasses, every participant has the unique opportunity to book individual private lessons directly with the world-famous faculty — a rare chance for personalised coaching at the highest level.
The week culminates in a closing ceremony where every graduate receives an official certificate personally signed by all ten faculty members — world-renowned artists of the Vienna State Ballet and leading companies abroad.
About the Masterclass
The Intensive Ballet Masterclass 2026 is a one-of-a-kind professional ballet training programme held in the heart of Vienna, Austria. Over seven consecutive days, dancers from across Europe and around the world gather to study with ten world-renowned ballet artists — principal dancers, pedagogues and masters of the Vienna State Ballet and leading international companies. From the youngest beginners to seasoned stage performers, every participant is immersed in an atmosphere of artistic excellence, disciplined technique and genuine creative inspiration.
Unlike conventional summer courses that cater to a single age group, the Vienna Masterclass 2026 has been designed as four distinct, age-appropriate programme tracks running in parallel. Young Dancers aged 6–8 and 9–12 receive a gentle, joyful introduction to classical ballet that nurtures musicality, coordination and confidence. The Intensive Programme welcomes amateur dancers and private ballet school students aged 13–17, while the Professional Masterclass is reserved for advanced students, pre-professional dancers and professional stage performers who seek the highest level of artistic challenge.
This structure means that families can attend together, younger siblings can train in an age-appropriate group while older dancers push their technical boundaries, and every participant learns alongside peers of a comparable level — a crucial factor for meaningful progress and personal attention.
The defining feature of the Vienna Masterclass is its faculty. Ten of the finest ballet artists of our time — principal dancers, soloists and respected pedagogues drawn from the Vienna State Ballet and leading companies abroad — travel to Vienna to teach, demonstrate and mentor. Each artist brings a distinct artistic lineage, a personal teaching philosophy and a deep commitment to passing on the traditions of classical and contemporary ballet.
Participants do not merely observe these artists from a distance. Every masterclass is hands-on, with individual corrections, personal feedback and the rare opportunity to experience the artistry of dancers who perform on the world’s most celebrated stages. It is this direct, personal contact that transforms a week of classes into a genuinely formative experience.
Beyond the group masterclasses, every participant has the unique opportunity to book individual private lessons directly with the faculty artist of their choice. These one-to-one coaching sessions allow dancers to work on specific technical challenges, refine a competition variation, develop pointe work, or receive personalised artistic guidance that simply is not possible in a group setting.
Private lessons are arranged personally upon enquiry and are subject to faculty availability. For serious dancers preparing for auditions, competitions or professional careers, this individual coaching at the highest level is one of the most valuable elements of the programme.
Few cities in the world carry the musical and artistic heritage of Vienna. The birthplace of classical music and home to the legendary Vienna State Opera and Vienna State Ballet, the city offers an environment in which ballet is not merely taught but lived. Participants train in professional studios and absorb the atmosphere of a capital that has shaped the performing arts for centuries.
The Masterclass takes place in the summer of 2026, allowing dancers and their families to combine elite training with the experience of Vienna’s cultural life — from concert halls and museums to the historic streets of the city centre.
The Vienna Masterclass 2026 welcomes professional dancers and advanced students seeking elite coaching, amateur dancers from private ballet schools who wish to deepen their training, and young dancers from the age of six who are taking their first serious steps in classical ballet. No audition is required for enrolment; places are, however, strictly limited to preserve the quality of individual attention that defines the programme.
